Future Programs
Octavia’s Options is actively working to expand its services through the development of additional programs designed to address gaps in housing, transportation, and food access within the community. These initiatives are currently in development and will be implemented as funding and partnerships grow. Planned programs include transitional housing to support individuals working toward long-term stability, a centralized community hub for accessing resources and services, a transportation support program that previously provided bus passes and is expected to resume in the future, and a low-barrier community garden focused on increasing access to fresh food while fostering community connection. These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to building sustainable, accessible support systems for individuals and families in Southern Oregon.
Transitional Housing Program
Octavia’s Options is developing a transitional housing program designed to provide temporary, supportive housing for individuals and families working toward long-term stability. This program will focus on creating a safe and structured environment where participants can access case management, connect to community resources, and build the skills needed for independent living. By addressing immediate housing needs while supporting long-term goals, this program aims to create sustainable pathways out of housing instability.
Community Resource Hub
The Community Resource Hub is a planned centralized space where individuals can access resources, support services, and community programming in one location. This space will be designed to reduce barriers by offering a welcoming and accessible environment for individuals seeking assistance. The goal of the hub is to create a consistent point of connection where community members can receive support, build relationships, and engage in services that promote stability and well-being.
Bus Passes
The Bus Pass Program is a transportation support initiative that previously provided bus passes to help individuals access employment, appointments, and essential services. Transportation is a critical component of stability, and this program played an important role in helping participants stay connected to opportunities and support systems. The program is currently paused due to funding limitations but is expected to resume as resources become available.
Community Garden
Octavia’s Options is working to develop a low-barrier community garden aimed at increasing access to fresh food while creating a welcoming space for community connection. This initiative will provide opportunities for individuals and families to participate in growing food, learning new skills, and engaging with others in a supportive environment. The garden is intended to be accessible to all, with minimal barriers to participation, and will serve as both a food resource and a space for community-building.
