Our Current Work
Octavia’s Options is actively building and expanding programs to increase access to housing support, essential resources, and community-based services across Southern Oregon. While our work continues to grow, our founder and volunteers are currently focused on the following areas:
Housing Support and Navigation
We support individuals in identifying and accessing housing opportunities by providing guidance, resource connection, and navigation support. This includes helping individuals understand available options, connect with local services, and take steps toward housing stability.
Program Development and Expansion
We are developing structured programs designed to address gaps in housing, transportation, and access to basic needs. This includes planning and preparing initiatives such as housing support services, a community hub, and other low-barrier programs that will expand over time.
Grant Writing and Funding Efforts
We are actively applying for local, state, and private funding opportunities to support the launch and expansion of our programs. This includes developing detailed proposals, building partnerships, and identifying sustainable funding sources.
Volunteer Engagement and Community Involvement
Our work is supported by volunteers who contribute their time and skills to program development, outreach, and organizational growth. We are continuing to expand opportunities for community members to get involved in meaningful ways.
Community Outreach and Partnerships
We are building relationships with local organizations, service providers, and community partners to strengthen collaboration and improve access to resources. These partnerships are essential to creating a more connected and effective support system.
As our organization continues to grow, these efforts are laying the foundation for expanded services and long-term impact within the community.
Housing First Initiatives
Octavia’s Options supports Housing First principles, which prioritize stable housing as a foundation for health and well-being. We believe that providing a safe, permanent home is the essential first step toward stability and long-term success. Our future initiatives include developing pilot housing programs and expanding community partnerships to ensure that every individual and family in rural Southern Oregon has a place to call home.
Community Research and Program Development
This program focuses on understanding housing challenges in rural Southern Oregon through research, community listening sessions, and resource mapping. These findings help inform future programs and partnerships that improve housing stability. By working closely with rural communities, we identify gaps in service and build collaborative paths toward long-term resource access and community resilience.
